……
I drove Ash up the coast yesterday and today, we drove inland. I was moved to sneak off and post this critical question to socials for the Americans because seriously I’m astounded.
And shitshows aside /
Happy fall. It’s BLAZING.
America, question for real here:
…is it me just having moved back to Massachusetts and not having noticed a gradual shift whilst traveling the world for the last 30 years or had the Halloween-lawn decorating trend complete with like a gazillion 17-foot skeletons looming everywhere SUDDENLY REALLY THIS INSANE…and is it about spooky fun-fun or is it about the fact that people can finally express their feelings of abject horror about the world to their neighbors without getting into political hot water?
Like….a 17 foot skeleton is way safer than a unity flag.
OR Is it due to the existence of millions of Spirit Halloween pop-ups in sad empty mall storefronts across the lands?
Or is it easy access to giant lawn ornaments via Amazon?
Or….general corporate holiday groupthink keep-up-with-the-Joneses madness??
Did Covid do this because people were going bat-wonk in their houses????
WHAT IS GOING ON???????
I kind of love it?….but am also confused. Feel free to post insane Halloween lawn pix from your neighborhood.
