bras as far as the eye can see
greetings from the south island. it’s my last day here, and then i head back up to waiheke. the small hall crawl shows up there are finally on sale to the public a rocky bay and palm beach are effectively sold out and there are still tickets for both morra hall shows on saturday july 31st…patron party info is coming, and make sure you get get tickets. and please spread the word for me.
meanwhile…i just saw this today.
i’ve never felt more emotional looking at a bunch of bras.
today was a long drive out to wanaka from glenorchy. we spent almost 4 hours in the car today.
there were lots of sheep, yes, and hills, and…we drove by this. we had to stop. it isn’t what you think.
read the sign.
read the bra.
have a cry.
i was moved to stop and reflect on all the women i know in my own family and in this community who’ve battled breast cancer, all the friends with mastectomies, all the pain that is impossible to put into words.
this is community. this is art. this is life.
this also a bunch of beautiful colorful bras on a hill.
it’s a bittersweet symphony, these bras.
feel free to share any stories here. i’m reading.
i love you all so much.
