Election Morning Read-In
Hello loves.
Let the strange day begin. I would like to take a moment this fine election morning to inform you that we woke up at 6:30am and we are staging a peaceful sleigh bed read-in before school.
On our reading list to call in the triumph today: Miranda July’s “All Fours”, Sophie Strand’s “The Body is a Doorway” (advance reader copy), Ronan Farrow’s “Catch and Kill”, Jamie Smart’s “Looshkin” and the Kamala Harris edition of “Little People Big Dreams” by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara, in preparation for our new president.
There is a part of me that has been jealous of all the rock stars who were out in full force last night fighting for Kamala, but I did my best over the weekend with the dolls shows to get the effing vote out, and now, my job is to read in bed with this kid. (And to take five minutes during our read-in to break my no-phones-in-bed to post about it on the internet. Don’t worry, I obtained Ash consent. We will probably read the comments.)
!!!!!!!VOTE*VOTE*VOTE* HARRIS/WALZ!!!!
