i’ve never felt compelled to copy and paste another artist’s album cover straight into my feed – until this. i grew up in a culture filled with powerful women rock icons, but the majority hid their reproductive selves away in order to compete with the men in the music industry.

childbearing was simply seen as a move that took you out of the field. we need more of this. less shame, more truth = more power for all beings.

so full standing ovation, halsey.

i cannot wait to hear the record and see what your reproductive ride has injected into your art-making. i know all of it – abortion, childbirth, miscarriage – shamelessly changed my songwriting-brain forever, and for the better.
