I’m dashing this post off in a hurry because I’ve decided, against all odds, to drag my ass out of bed to go see PJ Harvey in Boston tonight.
I’m so fucking happy to be living in a city again, WHERE THE PEOPLE COME AND MAKE THE MUSIC, but I’m also a tired-ass and behind-ass mother with a list of shit to do as long as my eyeballs and a house full of crap that I haven’t unboxed.
BUT PJ. So fuck everything I’m gonna go. You know why? Three different people have texted me to tell me that the show ws transcendent. I love me some Peej. I’ve seen her live 5-6 times. But I don’t always leave inspired. She’s not a chatty kathy. It can drag sometimes.
But this is her first states tour in 7 years, and the reviews are in. I’m gonna go.
I’m so tired but I’m gonna go. I’ll let you know how it went.

In that wonderful way the world works…I walked by this charming fucking coffee shop one day in Northampton when I was driving from Boston to Woodstock and had to pitstop for food with Ash, and I was saaaad to see that it was closed. It looked so pretty and perfect.
I was so sad it was closed that I said something on the internet. And then the coffee shop waved at me and told me they were fans, and now….we are DOING OUR PATRON GATHERING THERE, because LIFE.
The show is Saturday, the patron-only gathering will be Sunday (Sept 22nd), at Iconica Social Club, at 11am.
I’ll probably go til about 1pm. Bring kids, bring ideas, bring hearts, bring questions.
I’ll bring a Ukulele.
Wear a jacket in case it’s chilly, we’ll be inside.outside.

I’m only back here in Boston like three seconds and it starts getting interesting. Also, drag queens have been saving my feckin’ life all summer (sometime when I have time I gotta write the whole tearful story down on paper, I’m looking at you Jinkx Monsoon)…so, we are on brand.
Anywho, the Drag Queen Scarlet Envy (Drag Race season 11!) ….
…just reached out to me because they’ve got a massively gorgeous three-queen show (👑👑👑) with Alexis Michelle (Drag Race Season 9) and Tina Burner (season 13) ….about to hit the equally gorgeous Somerville Theater THIS Saturday night the 21st.
Yes, that’s the night of my Northampton show…I can’t go.
BUT – this benevolent drag queen has offered me a handful of tickets to give away to my local Boston queerdo fam, so I’m GIVEN AWAY A HANDFUL HERE.
