Northampton/Western Mass: if you’re local, help a girl out. See you tomorrow.
Hi everybody.
There’s been a lot going on, so thank you for bearing with me. 🙏
I wrote the book on The Art of Asking, and there occasionally comes a time where I gotta rip a page out of my own book and ask the community for support, so here goes.
It’s been a while since I had to ask my patrons to be my street team, since everything since 2019 has been selling incredibly well and easily.
But.
Due to circumstances beyond my control, I haven’t been able to do usual press and promo for this one-off show I have tomorrow (Saturday. Sept 21st) in Northampton, MA @ The Academy of Music Theater).

I’m really looking forward to getting on this huge stage behind this massive piano and making the sad and happy musics, and given my recent move back to Boston, I’m especially looking forward coming back to Western Mass for a show (it’s been FOREVER – and I didn’t come here in 2019 on my world tour) and…the venue is just fekkin gorgeous.
The ask? The hall is huge, and it’s about half sold, and since I haven’t been doing the usual promo, I would really love your help – if you’re local or know anybody in the area – getting the word out.
Please, if you can, text/email your friends in the area. Tell your folks who’ve gone back to teaching/school at Smith, UMass, Amherst, Hampshire, Williams, etc…tell your pals who teach at Kripalu and Mass MoCA. I’ve run into a lot of people online who just don’t know it’s happening.
If everybody who knows somebody out there does the thing, the word will spread fast, you know the drill.
Thank you for being the media for me. The beautiful piano/lighthouse image for the show was custom-painted by Niki McQueen. We will be selling prints at the show.
You can copy and paste this sucker to social media if you’re local and it’ll help. Use the direct ticketing link: https://www.aomtheatre.com/event/an-evening-with-amanda-palmer/
Lastly.
It would also mean the world to me if the community from Boston, New York, Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire and parts unknown traveled to see this show to clock some time with me. Roadie!!!
I’m holding a post-show morning-after gathering for patrons on the Sunday morning at a wonderful little cafe in the area that’s owned a run by a couple of my patrons, and we can have a good long yarn (and hug, if you need it, I know I do.)
I also promise at least one Chappell Roan cover. I need.
I love you.
Thank you.
See you tomorrow, and hopefully a lot of you on Sunday at Iconica at 11am.
Xx
Amanda
PS we have just made arrangements to RECORD THE WHOLE SHOW! If the mix comes out well, I’ll send the whole show to the $5+ patrons, so…yay. And I better not suck. Time to go practice. 🙂
