Hamilton Prize Scholarship
i’m excited to be on the selection committee for Wesleyan University’s Hamilton Prize scholarship with other great Wes alums (including Lin-Manuel Miranda himself).
a lot of my musical direction was deeply rooted in the things i learned in my classes there. i studied performance art and experimental music with some of the greatest thinkers of the 1960s and 70s….i was introduced to music i’d never encountered before: John Cage, Philip Glass, Laurie Anderson, and discovered theatrical innovators like Anna Deveare Smith and Robert Wilson. i’m so excited to be able to help usher in a new crop of forward-thinking art warriors to the stages and basement-practice-rooms of a place like Wesleyan.
