- AMANDA, YOU ARE TIRED.
WHY?
BECAUSE I TIRED AND THEREFORE I NEED TO.
BECAUSE I MISS YOU AND I WANAN SEE YOU.
Dudes. Boston. Friends.
People. Wicked. Pissah.
I’m in the thick of it. Behind, grieving, wiped, weird. It’s February Vacation, I am making huge life decisions, dealing with death aftermath and boring adulting, and…I AM IN BOSTON, doing family and friend stuff.
I had wanted to do some kind of Ninja Gig/Patron Gathering while I was here, but it was all too daunting and exhausting and I couldn’t find an obvious space, easily, that would fit 100+ people. Then, last night, my good friend Rachel Jayson (who you will remember as the violist from The Mess Inside, the “Mother” video, and from my podcast, the episode we lovingly named “I WANT THE THING“) told me that her friend has a BRAND NEW ARTS SPACE IN MEDFORD, and wanted to do something Whack-a-Doodle if I was game.
I am tired as fuck. But good lord, I am still game. So….LET’S DO IT.
Fate has called us.
(Here’s a photo of me and Rachel together with her then-new baby, Asa, long ago):
This will be a totally NO-FI gig! That’s like, less than lo fi. No stage, no piano, just me and a ukulele you and a building and whatever we all bring. The event is FREE but the space is DONATED so get ready to make a donation!!!
Thursday, Feb 22nd
6-8pm @
ARTS COLLABORATIVE MEDFORD

THIS ISN’T A FANCY CONCERT, it’s more of a hang, meet-up and open Q&A discussion.
I’ll have my Ukulele, Rachel will have a VIOLA!!!, and we be jamming and playing a couple songs, but mostly I’ll just say hi, take questions, and make shit up as I go along. You know me.

MORE ABOUT ACM!, from Regina:
HI PATRONS!
Here is a link to us on Google Maps. Here’s two screenshots of ACM – one is a wider view and the second is closer up.
We do have a parking lot, that we share with Theory Wellness. I would encourage folks to **carpool** as much as possible to make sure we are preserving spots for their customers.
To get to ACM:
- Mystic Ave @ Hancock St on the 95 bus outbound to Arlington Center/West Medford
- 15 min walk from the Medford/Tufts stop on the newly extended Green Line
- Coming from Boston, 1-93 North, Exit 21 to Medford to MA-38 N/Mystic Ave
Art Collaborative Medford’s mission is to provide a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space to create, enjoy, and engage with a diversity of arts and culture experiences.
Our new arts center encompasses 10,000 (!!) square feet of space on two floors at 162 Mystic Avenue. ACM includes space for exhibitions, studios, classes, workshops, and events. Through this collaborative community space, ACM aims to recognize Medford as a destination and generator for arts and culture.
We are a gathering place for creative community.
After years of advocating for a physical space, ACM opened its doors in January 2024. We are here to be a landing pad for the many voices in our community and build and grow together. As we grow, we’d love for folks to be the bridge to our growing network and tell us who we should know and who they’d like to see invited into the space!
FWIW, my connection to Rachel Jayson dates back to 2011 when I began work at Diesel Cafe with Cal {Rachel’s partner}.
Funny how the connections you start when you are young create the roots for things you could never imagine. So excited to have you this week!! Please let me know if you need any more information or have any more questions. The final attachment is our logo file. Happy to repost/share on our social channels after you post.
Love,
Regina.
……
OK BOSTON.
SEE YOU ALL THERE I HOPE.
LET’S BLESS THIS SPACE!!!
I need a fucking hug so BRING IT.
